My $1 Coach Purse

>> Thursday, February 11

A few weeks ago, at the flea market, I spied a pile of purses at a seller's table. Most of the purses were old and smelly but buried in the pile was this gorgeous but dirty powder blue backpack. I was wanting a new backpack and this purse just might work! Looking at it more closely, I realized that it was a Coach purse. My 10 year old son was with me and he asked me if I wanted him to buy it for me. I said, "sure!" We asked the seller how much he wanted for the purse. He wanted $2.00 but my son, already trained in the art and subtlety of flea market shopping (and I am sure aware of his own finances) promptly asked if the seller would take a dollar. The man was Hispanic and at first was hesitant. But after I tried to explain how the purse was dirty, etc. he agreed.
When we got home, I cleaned my purse with a wet rag and a drop of dish soap and voila! my $1 Coach backpack!
